BIOMASS

The Renewable Wood Eco Biomass Energy Project, based in Spain, is Gltrcore Energy’s first project that is open to the general public. Operating to the same high standards required by institutional and family offices when investing in renewable energy projects it provides.

The rapid increase in global energy demands, are putting a strain on the energy production market and this is increasing the use of fossil fuels such as oil, gas and coal which in turn is increasing the rate of global warming. With our newest project, we are giving you, the investor, the opportunity to not only invest in a safe and secure investment but to also make a positive environmental impact with your capital by producing a renewable and sustainable energy source in the form of biomass pellets.

Biomass energy VS wind energy?
Solid biomass fuels can produce electricity more reliably than intermittent energy sources like wind and solar because the fuel can be stored and used when needed.

What is Biomass?
Biomass is any organic material that is used for energy production. The process of energy production is commonly referred to as Bioenergy. Biomass is primarily found in the form of living organisms, in our case, it includes but is not limited to timber, branches from forest thinning, tree stumps, low growing plant matter, sawdust from woodland management activity and tree bark. This is then processed and turned into small pellets commonly referred to as biomass pellets. Most of the biomass pellet production takes place in rural areas, thus contributing to rural development.

In order to support the local production of this sustainable fuel, fuel that is largely consisting of wood processing residues, a stable and favorable policy framework is crucial.

For many of us, the air that we breathe has been degraded by coal, gas and oil extraction and use. The damage, not only to human beings but also to wildlife and the environment, has to stop.

We now know and understand that without a clean environment the very existence of life on Earth is threatened!

Biomass pellets are made at a pelletisation plant. Here wood that is unsuitable for other industries - like sawmill residues - are brought together. Biomass pellets are not only small in size and environmentally friendly, but they're also extremely cost-effective.

Biomass pellets are made from either wood residue (sawdust, shavings and offcuts, which are by-products of wood processing), or from freshly cut timber especially felled for the production of wood pellets. Wood fuel produced from sustainably managed forests is ‘replaced’ by the next crop of growing trees, which reabsorbs the same amount of carbon that is emitted by the current crop being burned.

To make pellets, the biomass must first be cleaned to remove contaminants. The clean biomass is then ground in a hammer mill or chipped to a uniform size, which must be less than the thickness of the pellet that will be produced. Grinding down biomass helps to reduce the horsepower the pellet mill must produce.

The wood is chipped, screened for quality, heated to reduce its moisture content to below 12% and then converted into a fine powder. This is then pressed through a grate at high pressure to form the solid, short, dense biomass pellet. Very high temperatures are used to dry the material and it is then compacted in a pelletizer.

Heating with pellets is, over the lifetime of the installation, cheaper than heating with fossil fuels; making pellets the perfect ally to tackle energy poverty.

When a biomass pellet is combusted, the overall amount of CO2 in the atmosphere remains neutral, unlike fossil fuels which release ancient carbon that has long fallen out of the natural carbon cycle.

When used in high-efficiency wood pellet stoves and boilers, biomass pellets can offer combustion efficiency as high as 85%. Biomass pellets produce 80% less CO2 emissions when combusted than coal, as well as lower levels of sulphur, chlorine, nitrogen.

Biomass pellets’ density and uniform shape also makes them easier to transport and store in large quantities. However, it is essential that they are kept dry while in transit and that when stored in biomass domes the atmospheric conditions are carefully monitored and controlled to prevent unwanted combustion.

As heat generated from biomass pellets is a very sustainable, efficient, comfortable, and secure solution for households, commercial uses such as those in larger habitation buildings and small industrial processes, allows for cost-effective decarbonization of the European heating sector.

Many people around the world still burn wood as their primary source of heat during the winter. The use of biofuels such as ethanol has been around for some time as well. It was used as lamp fuel in the United States in the 1800s.

The ability to access energy whenever and wherever we want gives us all a huge amount of freedom, but it comes at a cost.

After years of energy misuse, we now know and understand that without a clean environment the very existence of life on Earth is threatened.

We specialize in providing clients with access to clean-energy investments, in geographically safe, and politically secure locations in Europe.

The returns that we find for clients, from renewable energy investments, are towards the top of the scale but are reassuringly realistic due to the strong pressure globally to replace fossil fuel use with renewable energy.

Our project model allows us to deliver value to our clients via the leveraging of the ever-growing European demand for renewable energy. We feel our new European investment vehicle offers an excellent opportunity for all types of investors - but please note, we are currently expanding our project. With our latest project, we are giving you, the investor, the opportunity to not only invest in a safe and secure investment but to also make a positive environmental impact with your capital by producing a renewable and sustainable energy source in the form of biomass pellets.

Our main goal is to provide renewable and sustainable energy solutions whilst also providing our investors with a stable return on their money.

Our strategy to position the company and its operations in Spain have successfully put us and our clients' investments right in the heart of the demand for sustainable energy in Europe.

The pellets we produce are sold into the Finnish, Canadian energy markets but are also exported to other Nordic countries, especially Denmark and Portugal.

It’s vital for the long-term energy generation that biomass pellets are sourced from responsibly managed forests and other industries that protect the environment and do not contribute to deforestation.

Without energy, your car engine wouldn't start. Your home would be dark at night. Your showers would be cold in the morning. You wouldn't be able to watch Netflix, access Whatsapp, Emails, the list goes on.
